MEET OUR STAFF

The Rev. Timothy Clarkson

A graduate of The New Brunswick Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity (Class of May 2016), Pastor Tim has been serving First Presbyterian Church of Succasunna since January 2024. He enjoys leading worship, providing pastoral care, and engaging in all the ministries of the church.

Pastor Tim would be quick to say God made all of us from a place of love, sending Jesus into the world to show us what love, forgiveness, and a new relationship with God is. God, who is at work within, between, and among us, is the one who initiates things, and we respond to God’s grace by caring about each other.

Prior to serving as a pastor, Tim had been a clinical social worker for over twenty years, primarily in settings focused on children and families. Those experiences sensitize Pastor Tim to be mindful of people of every age and circumstance in the life of the church.

Tim resides in Somerville, NJ with his wife Amy. They have three young-adult children (Josh, Kate & Sean). In addition to Sundays, Pastor Tim is usually at the church on Mondays & Wednesdays. Tim’s interests include the love of laughter, playing guitar (which he generously shares with us as we worship), and the game of baseball.
